Activities, Clubs and Assemblies

Activities

The freshmen begin the year with a series of events which provide opportunities for the class members to get to know each other and have fun. Then at Halloween the whole school is in costume for a costume contest, games at lunchtime, and trick or treating at selected classrooms. The juniors have a chance to shine at the Junior Ring Ceremony and reception. In December mothers and their senior daughters gather at the school for the elegant Mother-Daughter Tea. Spirit Week is always the highlight of the school year with spirited competition between the classes. Elaborate hall decorations, skits, dress-up contests and fundraising activities all are judged to see which class is the most spirited.

Assemblies

The weekly assemblies provide opportunities to recognize student accomplishments, to pray together, to celebrate, or to engage in class activities. Assemblies have celebrated Women’s History Month and the many cultural groups represented in the school. At some assemblies students receive recognition of their academic, service, artistic or athletic achievement, while others are devoted to student body and class meetings or to motivational presentations.
